The United States Coast Guard Auxiliary was established by Congress in 1939 to primarily assist the Coast Guard in promoting boating safety. It boasts nearly 36,000 members from all walks of life who receive special training so that they may be a functional part of Team Coast Guard. Since its inception, The Coast Guard Auxiliary has expanded its parameters to virtually all areas in which the Coast Guard participates, except direct law enforcement and military operations. Division 3 (District 11, Northern Region) is composed of five flotillas, spanning Northern California from Redding, south through McClellan Park, Roseville, Sacramento, and Elk Grove. At present, we have over 200 members supporting TEAM COAST GUARD in our Division. Our Division Area of Operation includes the Sacramento River, Sacramento Delta, Lake Shasta, Lake Oroville, Lake Folsom and other areas as assigned or needed. Our "Air" Flotilla at McClellan Park assists the US Coast Guard across all of California and ocean areas with all types of operations. 2012 Division 3 Board
